What is the
Hiring Reliability Index™?

The Hiring Reliability Index™ is a real-time composite score — 0 to 100 — that measures how likely an active executive search mandate is to close successfully. It was developed by Majhi OS as an alternative to time-to-fill.

One number. Five signals. Continuous update.

The Hiring Reliability Index is a number between 0 and 100. Above 70 means the mandate is healthy. Between 50 and 69 means it’s at risk. Below 50 means it’s on a failure trajectory.

It is calculated from five operational signals: pipeline velocity, outreach response rate, recruiter load factor, shortlist approval rate, and close velocity. Each signal updates in real time. The composite score updates whenever a signal changes.

Think of the HRI as a vital sign for your hiring system. A declining HRI is like a declining heart rate — it doesn’t tell you the patient has died. It tells you to intervene now.

Common questions about the HRI.

Who created the HRI?

The Hiring Reliability Index was developed by Majhi OS. It emerged from observing that recruiting teams consistently lacked a leading indicator for mandate health — and that time-to-fill only measured outcomes, never risk.

How is it different from Hiring Health Score?

The Hiring Health Score is Majhi OS’s broader mandate monitoring system. The HRI is the specific composite metric within that system — the number that summarises all five signals into a single, actionable score.

Can I calculate my HRI manually?

You can approximate it, but real-time accuracy requires the Majhi OS signal infrastructure. Manual calculation introduces the reporting lag the HRI is designed to eliminate.

Does HRI replace ATS reporting?

No. ATS reporting tells you what happened to candidates. HRI tells you where the mandate is going. They serve different operational layers and are both valuable.

How often does the score update?

Continuously. Every candidate event, outreach reply, and stage transition updates the relevant sub-signal immediately. The composite score updates within minutes of any signal change.

What does HRI below 50 mean?

A score below 50 means the mandate is on a failure trajectory. Majhi OS initiates a critical recovery sequence, escalates to the hiring manager, and reviews recruiter load. The mandate needs immediate intervention.

The problem HRI was built to solve.

68% of VP searches stall past week 10. Most of those stalls were detectable in week 4. The HRI exists to close the gap between when a problem starts and when it becomes visible in a status report.
